Pastors Jackie and Sheree Poe have served in ministry for twenty seven years. Their ministry began at Cliffview Church of God in Galax, VA where they served as youth pastors for sixteen years. During these early years at their home church, they were able to mentor many young men and women who now are serving in various areas of ministry. In 1994 they accepted positions of Youth and Associate Pastors at Riveroak Church of God in Danville, VA. After five years in Danville, they began their pastorate at Martinsville Church of God at 205 Clearview Drive which then relocated to their new facility at Mercy Crossing on 1978 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, VA. Pastor Poe has a passion for missions and has ministered abroad and to many smaller churches here in the U.S. His energetic and realistic approach to sharing the Word has blessed thousands over the years. He loves his wife and riding the motorcycle he received at Mercy Crossing’s 3rd Annual Biker Sunday! Sheree enjoys playing the piano, singing, decorating, and spending every free moment she has to share with her husband of 31 years! Her great gift of loving others unconditionally and her wonderful smile has captured the hearts of all who are privileged to know her. Pastor and Sheree’s vision is to reach the lost, disciple workers for the Kingdom and to worship God to the utmost. For the past 10 years, they have served Mercy Crossing as a team, helping all those in their care to fulfill their God-given purpose and to “enjoy the journey”!

Brian and Diane have been serving as Couples Pastors for thirteen years and Family Care Pastors for three years at Mercy Crossing.  They served as Encouragers and Equippers from the beginning of the Family Care Ministry five years prior to becoming Family Care Pastors.  Prior to God leading them to Mercy Crossing, Brian and Diane worked in Youth and Children's Ministries and Brian served as the Men's Ministry Leader in the church they were attending.  During their thirty-five years of marriage, they have had seasons of joys, trials and difficulties.  They take what they have learned and are continuing to learn from each of those seasons to coach and teach other couples how to rejoice in the good times and work through the bad.  It is serving the Lord, serving each other, serving their family and serving others that bring them fulfillment and joy in life.

They are blessed to have two daughters.  Heather is married to Jerry Harper III and they have a son, Carson.  Holden, Heather's oldest son, went to his Heavenly home in February of 2011.  Holly is married to Troy Lamy and they have three sons, Hunter, Easton, Tanner and a daughter, Jossalin.

He plans to further his education by getting his Master’s in Counseling through Liberty University.

Pastor Jimmy Wood has served the Church at Mercy Crossing for a combined total of some 20 years in the positions of Associate Pastor, Mercy Crossing Christian Academy Headmaster, and Family Care and Visitation Pastor.  He has been married to the former Patsy Taylor of Martinsville for almost half a century.  He is the father of Tim Wood, the father-in-law of Cynthia Wood, and the grandfather of Victoria Wood who are also a part of the Mercy Crossing church family.

He is a native Texan, but most of his ministry has been served in Virginia.  He holds a B.A. in Biblical Education from Lee University in Cleveland, TN.  He is a former Editor of Family Training Hour Curriculum produced by Pathway Press in Cleveland, TN.   After serving pastorates in Marion and Critz, Virginia, he returned to Mercy Crossing where he currently serves as Family Care and Visitation Pastor.  Having been a part of the Mercy Crossing family since the early 1960’s, he has seen the Church transition to its present location and prominence in the community.  He definitely feels the best days of the Church are yet to come and is excited to be numbered with its dedicated staff.

Pam began working as a volunteer in the church office in 1999. She was hired to fill a clerical position in March of 2000. She now fills the position of Office Administrator. Contributions, payables, and overseeing the church facilities are among her duties. Although she works with numbers on a daily basis, the people of the church are her passion as well. Being a part of this church family from an infant has given her a heart for the needs and concerns of the Mercy Crossing family. She is married to Rickey Hopkins who is involved in several ministries of the church. They have a daughter, Tina, who is married to Eric Arrington. They have blessed Pam and Rickey with three beautiful grandsons, Nathan, Seth, and Evan who are the fourth generation of their family to be a part of Mercy Crossing. One of their greatest joys is to worship with their family each week.

Benjamin Webb serves in the position of Head of Communications. He has served in ministry for the past six years and has an Associate Degree in Church Leadership and Ministry. Driven to find and pursue the purpose of his life, Ben moved to Lynchburg, VA to be part of Mission Virginia, later to become Mission Baltimore. There, he was trained for 3 years in real-life experiences to selflessly lead in various ministry opportunities. After a year’s internship at Church on the Rock in Millersville, MD, as Youth Pastor and Media Director, he went on full-time staff continuing to carry out his obligations. He also worked as the Lab Teacher at Church on the Rock Christian Academy. After completing the school year, God began to tug at his heart. Ben knew it was time to move back to his home town, Martinsville. Moving back to Martinsville was a new chapter in his life. Not knowing what he was there for, he went back to his roots at Mercy Crossing where he began to minister to the youth. God has opened doors that he never thought could be opened and he is now part of the Mercy Crossing team. Very excited about the lives that are being touched, and the lives that are to be touched, Ben considers it an amazing opportunity to serve with great leaders and pastors who are passionate about spreading  the Gospel.
